How To Add A Custom Domain To Your WHAP Website
In this article learn how to add and configure a custom domain name for a WHAP website.
Select the "Domain" tab and follow the steps.
Create A Server
Every WHAP website requires a unique server name to be entered in the field, server names must only use lowercase letters and number and be between 3-24 characters.
WHAP will automatically verify the availability of the server name. A green checkmark and the word "Available" will be displayed at the end of the input field to confirm its availability.
Click "Create Server" to create a website server.
Add Custom Domain
Add the custom domain address by inputting www in to the "Sub domain" field, and the domain address into the "Domain Name" field.
Click "Save Domain" to reveal the next step.
Update DNS Settings
At the domain provider, add the DNS settings.
Click "Verify Domain", WHAP will check that the CNAME record is added correctly by showing green text saying "Verified".
Create CDN
WHAP uses a CDN(Content Delivery Network) to deliver website content.
To create a CDN click "Create CDN" and continue to the final step.
Update Nameservers
At the domain provider update the nameservers.
Click "Verify Nameservers", WHAP will check the settings are correct and indicate that the Nameserver update was successful by displaying the "Status" is active, and the "Cloudflare System Status" is operational.
Note - Updates to nameservers can take up to 24-48 hours for the change to take effect. This period is called DNS propagation. It is a period of time ISP (Internet service provider) nodes across the world take to update their caches with the new DNS information of your domain.
Delete Domain Name
To delete a websites domain name ensure the "Domain" tab is selected, click the "Delete Server" button. This action will delete the websites server and remove the domain name unpublishing the website.
To add a new domain name select the "Domain" tab and complete the "Server Name" field.
